316 Stainless Steel

The designation SUS 316 stands for "Stainless Use Steel 316," commonly known as 316 stainless steel. This designation follows the technical standards set by the Japanese Industrial Standards (JIS) organization.

Stainless steel is essentially a type of steel resistant to corrosion, though the degree of resistance depends on its chemical composition. Based on this composition, stainless steel is categorized into various grades, such as SUS 316, SUS 304, SUS 201, and SUS 430.

Due to its specific composition, 316 stainless steel is highly versatile; it ranks second in consumption among stainless steel grades, accounting for approximately 20% of current production.
