Fire damper (FD)

The FD fire damper is an EI-rated fire damper widely used in ventilation and smoke extraction systems. Its primary function is to prevent the spread of fire and toxic smoke from a fire zone to adjacent areas, effectively isolating the fire zone to facilitate firefighting efforts.

Many companies have sought to develop and bring to market air ducts and dampers that meet these standards; however, not all have succeeded. Kaiyo Vietnam was among the first to successfully test fire-resistant air ducts utilizing MgO (magnesium oxide) boards. Following this achievement, the company also successfully tested an FD fire damper that meets the EI 90 standard. The EI 90-rated FD fire damper, branded under the name Kaiyo Vietnam, has earned the trust of numerous contractors and general project contractors, who now regularly specify and utilize these products.
