Company Introduction

In 1990, Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company (a single-member limited liability company owned by the State) was officially established pursuant to Decision No. 1352/QĐ-UB dated November 9, 1990. As a state-owned enterprise under the Provincial People's Committee, it affirmed its pioneering role in Vietnam's swiftlet nest industry.

The company was entrusted by the Provincial People's Committee with the tasks of managing, protecting, harvesting, and processing swiftlet nest resources. Drawing on extensive experience and scientific research achievements regarding swiftlet population growth and the development of new nesting caves and islands, the company currently manages 33 islands (comprising 173 caves) and oversees 26 affiliated units and joint-stock subsidiaries, employing a highly skilled workforce of over 5,500 people. By implementing comprehensive technical solutions within the caves, the company has enhanced both the yield and quality of Khanh Hoa's natural island swiftlet nests; in 2015, production reached 3,401 kg—an increase of over 1,200 kg compared to 2001. Leveraging its strengths as a direct harvester of natural island swiftlet nest resources, the company has become a leader in both Vietnam and Asia in terms of natural swiftlet nest production. Simultaneously, it collaborates to support, restore, and develop natural swiftlet nesting sites across coastal provinces stretching from Quang Binh to Con Dao, thereby revitalizing the development potential of swiftlet nesting caves and islands in Khanh Hoa and throughout the country. Previously, salanganes's nest was primarily harvested and sold in raw form, comprising varieties such as blood nest, pink nest, "quang" nest, "thien" nest, "bai" nest, "dia" nest, and broken nest fragments. Driven by the desire to bring the nutritional value of salanganes's nest to the wider community, the Company established a processing facility in 2002 to produce its first refined salanganes's nest products—conveniently packaged in 3g and 5g portions, as well as 20g whole-nest products. In 2009, the facility launched new product lines, including refined island salanganes's nest (in 50g and 100g boxes) and whole-nest products (in 50g and 100g boxes). By 2012, the Company had introduced a refined salanganes's nest line specifically for dieters—available in 3g and 5g boxes—to meet market demand.

Pursuing a strategy of product diversification and aiming to make the nutritional benefits of natural island salanganes's nest accessible to the public, the Company began construction of the Sanest salanganes's Nest Beverage Factory in Suoi Hiep Commune, Dien Khanh District, in 2002; the facility was initially designed with an annual capacity of 5 million units. The construction of this factory marked a crucial milestone in meeting market demand, allowing Sanest-branded products—crafted from nutritious natural island salanganes's nest—to gradually reach consumers across the country. The reputation of the Sanest Khanh Hoa brand was further solidified as its premium bottled salanganes's nest products were exported to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China in 2005, followed by the US market in 2010, and the establishment of branches in Laos, Cambodia, and other ASEAN nations in 2011.

In 2007, with the support of the Company’s Party Committee and Board of General Directors, the Sanest Tourist Service Center commenced operations, offering unique tour experiences such as excursions to Hon Noi (Swiftlet Island), night sea cruises, and fishing tours. Since then, the Center has expanded its offerings to include a variety of distinctive marine eco-tourism activities, attracting numerous visitors to Nha Trang.

Building on the success of a pilot project involving artificial incubation and the rearing of swiftlets through various developmental stages, the Company established the Sanatech Indoor Swiftlet Farming Technical Center in 2007. Its mission was to transfer technical know-how and artificial incubation and rearing technologies, as well as to provide consultancy on solutions for increasing swiftlet populations. To date, the Company has perfected highly effective indoor swiftlet farming techniques, secured a reliable source of breeding stock, and achieved steadily increasing yields of house-farmed swiftlet nests. Through the collaboration of the Company’s technical department, the Sanatech Land swiftlet house design and construction enterprise, and the Sanatech Center, 500 swiftlet houses have been successfully built and consultancy provided for 700 others (out of a national total of 2,614). These efforts have increasingly solidified the Company's reputation and standing in transferring indoor swiftlet farming technology to people across the country, thereby fostering the development of the swiftlet farming industry in Vietnam.

Also in 2007, the Company invested in several projects, including the launch of the Sanest Foods premium food processing plant; its inaugural product was the premium Sanest Cake (swiftlet nest cake). This was the first factory in Vietnam to produce premium swiftlet nest cakes. In 2009, the plant began producing premium, nutritious swiftlet nest Mooncakes that retained traditional flavors while featuring luxurious, high-end packaging. In early 2015, the plant introduced "Khanh Hoa Seahorse and Swiftlet Nest Medicinal Wine" to the market. To boost productivity and operational efficiency while expanding its market reach, the Company has proactively invested in constructing several new facilities since 2005. These include the Cam Ranh Premium salanganes's Nest Beverage Plant (capacity: 50 million units/year), the Dien Khanh salanganes's Nest Raw Material Processing Plant (capacity: 30 million units/year), the Sanna Beverage Plant in Cam Ranh, a pedestrian zone complex, and a North-South route service center. Additionally, the Company developed the salanganes's Nest Port, expanded its nationwide network of salanganes's Nest restaurants and product showrooms, and inaugurated the Khanh Hoa salanganes's Nest Center in Phu Yen.

Thanks to a dedicated sales team operating across branches in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Da Nang—as well as throughout the Northern, Central, and Southern regions—Khanh Hoa salanganes's Nest products are now available in stores and supermarkets nationwide, supported by a network of over 1,000 distributors and agents spanning 63 provinces and cities, from Lang Son to Ca Mau.

Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest Company is expanding its showroom network to increase the market coverage and presence of its product showcase stores across the country. The company focuses on researching and developing diverse product lines derived from salanganes's nests, aiming to bring the nutritional value of Khanh Hoa natural island salanganes's nests to the community. Emphasis is placed on enhancing product quality to meet ISO, HACCP, GMP, and other international standards. A sales management software system is being implemented across the company's entire sales network. Customer care efforts are being strengthened through the establishment of customer service centers at branches, the organization of annual nationwide customer conferences, and the arrangement of domestic and international study tours for customers. Exports to key markets—including Australia, Canada, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea, Hong Kong, the US, Laos, and Cambodia—are being intensified. By establishing representative offices and product showrooms in various countries worldwide, the company is solidifying the position of the Khanh Hoa Salanganes Nest brand as a strong and reputable name in both domestic and international markets.
